JMU Projects
These are projects created during courses at JMU that helped me grow immensely through each task and topic. Integrated Marketing Communications showed me the entire process of researching, brainstorming, creating, compiling, and presenting to a client. My Cob300 project let me be creative and innovative through product ideation, target market research, operations, manufacturing, production, retail, and marketing, all while working within a team.
01
Shenandoah Caverns - IMC
Through developing an integrated marketing communications plan for Shenandoah Caverns, I gained hands-on experience coordinating every layer of a real marketing strategy, from event planning and promotional materials to social media, email campaigns, website optimization, and financial planning. Working across all of these channels simultaneously taught me how each element must speak with a consistent voice and support the same overarching goals, which is the foundation of truly integrated marketing. This experience directly prepares me for a career in marketing because companies need professionals who can see the full picture and manage multiple moving parts at once. While pursuing roles in digital marketing, brand management, event coordination, or public relations, the ability to build a cohesive strategy from the ground up is a skill I will carry into every position I hold.

PillPal - Cob300
Through developing a full business plan for PillPal, an innovative smart pill case with an integrated app to track and alert users and caretakers about medication adherence, I gained experience working across every core function of a business simultaneously. From sourcing materials and managing manufacturing and logistics costs to building a marketing strategy, and establishing a management structure, this project taught me how every department of a company is deeply interconnected. Pricing a product meant understanding supply chain costs; marketing it meant understanding who needed it most; managing it meant knowing who was responsible for what. This directly prepares me for careers in product development, operations management, marketing, or entrepreneurship. More than any single skill, PillPal taught me how to take an idea from concept to a fully realized business plan.
