My Journey
Past
Growing up in rural Virginia, it was hard to see anything beyond my small town. I loved to spend time outdoors and meet my friends at our one local coffee shop, but there really isn't much to do in Nelson County, VA. I found a lot of entertainment, comfort, and community in music.
I was always creative, but didn't know how I could apply that to a career. During the pandemic, I started a freelancing business that allowed me to work remotely for businesses from Miami to Northern California! I grew a ton through that experience and learned a lot of organic marketing skills before starting community college, where I learned and solidified more hard skills.
Present
A lot led up to my journey at JMU as a senior, but I'm so glad I made it here! After getting my AS in Business Admin, I transferred into JMU as a junior Marketing student. Transferring was a little intimidating, but I quickly made friends through orientation and classes, and soon felt very at-home. I've had some of the most amazing experiences joining an a cappella group, studying abroad, and learning both inside the classroom and out. I've also had the privilege of gaining experience at a marketing internship with Healthy Community Health Centers, and am preparing for my life post-grad!
Future
A mix of manifestation, drive, passion, and hard work have gotten me where I am today, and I don't plan on stopping! Post-grad, I am relocating to Phoenix, Arizona, with my boyfriend, and dog (Tato), where I'll be pursuing a career in a digital marketing position as well as my Master of Marketing degree. I am very excited to explore new coffee shops, parks, hikes, restaurants, and live music in my new home.
I am passionate about working in the beauty, wellness, music, entertainment, and hospitality/travel industries. I hope to use my creativity along with measurable analytics to drive results wherever I end up. Some personal goals of mine are to stay active, decorate my new space, continue to learn and grow academically and in my career, read more books, and eat whole foods!
